SWTOR Escape Pod Cast 15 – Gearing Up a New 55

SWTOR Escape Pod Cast-ArtworkThis week @AIESema, @MaxTheGrey and Astromech EPC-15 bring you news about Patch 2.5 and drill down with tips and guidance on what to do to gear up that new 55 you have from the double XP weekend. They cover tips on legacy smuggling, commendations, dailies, augments, stims and starting in on Hard Mode Flash Points.

No joke here this week… its fact: The Kessel run routed around black hole space and the best pilots could skirt the dangerous stuff to shorten the distance! (I always thought it was misuse of distance measures in place of time!)

  1. As always, a highlight to my day whenever your podcast comes out.

    Sema,
That’s great you’re reading Red Shirts. I thought it was a fun, quick read by Scalzi. A great love letter to Star Trek and other TV shows in that genre. If you haven’t read it already, I HIGHLY recommend you read Scalzi’s earlier book series, Old Man’s War. One of the few books I have read cover to cover without ever putting down. You won’t be disappointed.

    Max,
I also recently discovered Tiny Death Star a few weeks ago. My wife and I are hooked. So simple….so addictive. Great game to play when you’ve got a spare few minutes to kill.

THORN, the new Rakghoul event reputation is a hat-tip to Marvel’s SHIELD. In fact, they said in the movies/tv show the same thing first. This is a quote from the first episode of SHIELD that came out a couple months ago:

Hill: What does S.H.I.E.L.D. stand for Agent Ward?
Ward: Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.
Hill: And what does that mean to you?
Ward: That someone really wanted our initials to spell SHIELD.

  2. Thanks again for the feedback. It’s always appreciated.

I was totally thinking of the SHIELD quote when I mentioned that on the cast. I should have called out SHIELD for it. I really liked that line when I heard it in the pilot. 🙂

    1. I really enjoyed Redshirts and definitely intend to try out more Scalzi. I am going to read another Neal Stephenson first, I think, though. So many good options! And today I am starting Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. I have to decide today if I want to get the rest of the trilogy. I’m spending up my 2013 Audible credits!
