Rumor we wish was true: In the summer expansion there will be a new “+11 to all stats” datacron. It will take 11 people do attempt and will take 11 hours to complete. It will be awesome because… it goes to 11.

  1. Ass tanking. I love it. Wait…I mean, the phrase, it’s funny. I love that. 🙂 I have an Ass Tank on the Harbinger that I’ve been leveling and it’s so much fun tanking. Though I don’t have any 55s, so as I get higher in level I get to FPs that I am unfamiliar with, which is tough cause it seems like tanks should lead those things. Please think of doing an episode on Assassin tanks. Would love to hear that.

Have you read China Meiville’s Perdido Street Station? If you’re just getting into his stuff, I’d recommend starting with that. It’s the first in his Bas-Lag series, The Iron Council being the final book in that series.

Another recommendation is The Lives of Tao by Wesley Chu. Just started reading this the other day and can’t put it down.

Again, great podcast! See ya around!

  2. Thanks Matt. As for more details on Assassin Tanking, you may want to check out our episode #10 (10/28/2013). We had our main Assassin tank @BruDog (who I was filling in for this week) to talk some about it. It’s not a complete “guide” per se, but Bru had some good tips in there.

Also, I have read the rest of that series by China Meiville. I find his work pretty original and inventive but a little overly dark and gritty in some parts. Very good writing, none the less.

I’ll have to take a look at Wesley Chu. Thanks!

  3. Right. I’d forgotten about that one. I’ll go give it another listen now, but I’d still like BruDog on again to talk specifically about Ass Tanking. 😉

I hear you on Meiville, but he’s one of the few contemporary authors that I read and can get completely lost in the world he builds. Similar to the way Dostoevsky affects me.

Also, Seama, have you done a “basics of healing” segment like BruDog did tanking? (Yes, I just asked the question rather than spend a few seconds and review past episode descriptions…my laziness knows no bounds!) I would be interested in hearing that.

    1. We have done some healing stuff, especially talking about leveling as a healer, but I am always up for talking about healing. And I don’t think we’ve spent a lot of time talking about the basics, which to me would be things like how to make that judgment call on who to heal, how to know when a HOT will do and when you should be casting your nuke, when to use cooldowns and relics. Dang… I think that is an outline for a segment right there!

  4. Datacrons: Great Topic to bring up.

Way too undervalued item/s to a lot of players I run into.

I’ve gotten them all on my main toon and most on my lvl 55 Alts. But it wasn’t from skill…just determination….and many viewings of youtube videos.

There were MANY times when it would take 50+ attempts and several hours just to get some of the more tricky datacrons. It’s lucky that my neighbors didn’t call the cops when this happened because every time I fell I’d be screaming with rage for hours. Thank god for deaf neighbors.

May the Cartel Coins Be With You!
